Cara Lankford is a California State Bar Certified Specialist in Estate, Trust and Probate Law. A Certified Specialist is more than just an attorney who specializes in a particular area of law. A California attorney who is certified by the State Bar as an Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law Specialist must have:

  1. Taken and passed a comprehensive, highly competitive, full-day written examination in estate planning, trust, and probate law administered by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization;
  2. Demonstrated a high level of expertise and requisite number of years of experience in estate planning, trust, and probate law;
  3. Fulfilled mandated ongoing education requirements in estate planning, trust, and probate law; and
  4. Been favorably evaluated by other attorneys and judges familiar with his estate planning, trust, and probate work.

Additionally, since 2024, Cara has been selected by her peers as one of California’s “Super Lawyers” in the areas of estate & trust litigation.

Prior to joining Conradi Disston Lankford, LLP, Cara was a partner at another boutique trust and estate law firm in Orinda.   Cara also previously served as a Deputy City Attorney for the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office, where she litigated cases in both state and federal courts through appeal, and externed for California Supreme Court Justice Ming Chin.

Cara’s experience provides a global, big-picture perspective to handling contentious trust, estate, and conservatorship matters. She brings a pragmatic, proactive approach to all areas of the practice, from estate planning through trust administration and litigation.

Cara has extensive experience representing fiduciaries in the administration of trusts and probates, as well as in establishing and managing conservatorships of the person and estate.
